Happy birthday Regina King! King, known for her role as Brenda Jenkins on the NBC sitcom, “227” in 1985 which was her first acting role and she remained on the show for five years. She has appeared on the TNT police drama, “Southland”, as Detective Lydia Adams and in numerous movie roles with co-stars such as Janet Jackson, Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, Tom Cruise and many more. King married Ian Alexander in 1997 and divorced in 2007, the couple have a son together. She will have a reoccurring role on FX’s “The Strain” later this year. –Joi Pearson @joiapearson
