Spring 2014 beauty trend: Blue eyeshadow, get the look with Black Opal

Look-at-me-now blue eyeshadow is in! Get with the trend using Black Opal‘s Eye Stain Matte shades, “Roccan’ It.” Available online starting March 3rd, the set features a vibrant blue and pretty purple hue. We love both colors and while blue is “in,” purple is also a gorgeous color that pairs well with hazel and green eyes. Create the bluest eye but feel free to swap out the colors to create two vibrant, attention-grabbing looks this spring.

Eyelash specialist and celebrity makeup artist, Nikki Zalanka shares two blue eyeshadow looks for you to create solo. #YOLO try them both!

  1. Disco Blue: Apply primer and then pat on “Roccan’ It” from lash line to crease. Think a half moon shape. In the center of the lid pat on a little, and we mean little, of the purple eyeshadow to add dimension and create a funky nighttime look.
  2. Electric blue wings:  mix “Roccan’ It” with 1-2 drops of a mixing medium like Visine. Apply from the middle of the las line with a fine brush. Use small strokes to keep the line straight, getting thicker toward the outer lash line. Draw the line upward, toward the temple for a funky mod twist.

Pair your blue eyeshadow eyes with a fresh pinky-peachy nude lip.
