Gather up all your “curlfriends.” Dark and Lovely introduces a new line of products perfect for the gals who like to wear their hair “Au Naturale.”
On Feb. 27 Dark and Lovely hosted a posh hair event at No. 8 in New York City hosted by recording artist Marsha Ambrosius. Once invitees walked through the event doors they were greeted by several welcoming hosts. The décor was tropical themed, “hey honey” drinks were readily available as well as mini hors d’oeuvres. Both the signature drinks and savory treats were created by Chef Roblé and his team. Sounds for the night were curated by DJ Moma of Everyday People.
Given the frigid temperatures outside, No. 8 was the closest thing to a tropical getaway!
If beautiful curls and women were what you were searching for, No. 8 was packed full of naturalistas and curl enthusiasts. Did we mention that the beautiful and talented Marsha Ambrosius was there in all her curl glory? Well, she was; and she gave attendees a vocal performance that added a cherry on top of an already exciting night.
Ambrosius sat down and talked with the audience a bit about her natural hair journey. Like that of many in the audience; dryness, shrinkage and breakage have littered her journey. Ambrosius also discussed her hair inspiration: her aunt.
Dark and Lovely presented the lovely ladies above who where part of a blind hair study. Participants were given products and asked to use them for six months concluding their hair journey with the reveal that they had been using the Dark and Lovely Au Naturale line. Don’t their curls look divine?
