There are few things with more beauty and grace than a black ballerina. While the pointe dance genre has received very little attention in mainstream entertainment, little girls still strive to become talented ballerinas perfecting pirouettes and leaping into the hair with precision. Mothers become particular dance moms, watching their children from the sidelines as they grow and compete with their peers for coveted roles in annual recitals and major competitions. Of course, ballerinas aren’t the only ones performing in a competitive space, but their striking poses capture the beauty of the human form.
