Earthquake hits Los Angeles

News media are reporting that a magnitude 4.4 earthquake has hit the Los Angeles, Calif., area.  The epicenter of the earthquake is approximately six miles northwest of Westwood, Calif., and 15 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. The earthquake hit at around 6:15 a.m. PST.

No damage has been reported yet from the largest earthquake that Los Angeles has experienced in years.  The earthquake was strong enough to shake walls and authorities are monitoring the situation for aftershocks.
