Meet one of the South’s hardest working belles: Lisha Lee. Growing her business out of Raleigh, North Carolina, she has her hair in just about everything—literally. Founded in 2011, Hollywood Sensation is a hair extension line that offers a variety of extensions, Virgin Indian, Malaysian and Brazilian hair, marketed on her site, Facebook and Instagram pages. She brands herself with her business—it’s the digital way for this millennial to be socially seen on the noisy web.
Currently, she’s working on her cosmetics line, Lisha Lee Cosmetics (glow-in-the-dark nail polish, highly pigmented and bold lip glosses, and more) while pursuing her Masters in Clinical Social Work at North Carolina Central University, where she also received her B.A., in Criminal Justice. “I have always loved fashion, especially hair and makeup,” the educated businesswoman shares.
Lee is also in love with her mother, who has been winning her fight against cancer. She is hosting her first fundraiser in October, “Cancer & Cosmetics,” simultaneously working on the launch of her fashion line. The serial entrepreneur is just a small town girl from Wilmington, N.C., who plans on being a global, beauty and style empire. “My cosmetics line will be sold worldwide, as well, [I will be] opening a retail store overseas for extensions. I will be popping up as a vendor in various cities and launching my clothing. I also see myself being a motivational speaker, mentoring young girls who have dreams; who seek inspiration and guidance to transform their dreams into a tangible career for them.” Here’s a look at some of her beauty offerings. —rachelle gauthier
