Columbus Short’s wife files a restraining order against him

Columbus Short’s estranged wife recently asked for a restraining order against him after he allegedly threatened to kill her and himself. In the order first obtained by TMZ, the “Scandal” star’s spouse, Tanee McCall, claims that the 31-year-old held a knife to her throat on April 7 after coming home intoxicated.

According to the documents, Short came into McCall’s room with a wine bottle in his hand and pretended to hit her with it before pouring its contents on her. She then says he grabbed a knife and began choking her while interrogating her about men he believed she slept with. After threatening to stab her in the leg, McCall says he held the knife up to her throat and threatened to kill her and himself.

In addition to filing the restraining order, McCall filed for divorce from the actor on April 15 citing irreconcilable differences. This marks the third time the couple has begun divorce proceedings.

The restraining order is the latest in a string of bad press for the ABC star. In March he was arrested for brawling with a man during a bar fight. It was then revealed that he previously pleaded not guilty to spousal battery and child abuse after physically attacking his wife in front of their children.
