Gucci Mane is more than likely going back to jail. However, the rapper is hoping for leniency with a possible plea deal.
According to Radar Online, Gucci, born Radric Davis, is desperately trying to avoid a trial and negotiate a plea deal instead stemming from his December 2013 arrest. The “So Icy” rapper is charged with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon. Davis reportedly threatened friends and police officers with a gun in separate incidents.
Court records obtained by Radar state that Gucci’s lawyers have petitioned the judge to postpone the previously scheduled court date because “all parties anticipate resolution without the need of a trial.”
The court records go on to state:
The parties believe they may have resolved this matter subject to certain approvals including a meeting with the court. However, due to various schedule conflicts, counsel have been unable to finalize the matter and given defense counsels respective absence from the jurisdiction over the next week, will be unable to finalize the matter prior to the trial date.
If convicted, Gucci Mane faces up to 20 years in prison.
