This is how you throw a party.
With Meek Mill taking center stage, the Highline Ballroom was buzzing—both from the excitement of the 2014 NFL Draft and from the Ciroc that flowed in abundance throughout the night. With NFL stars like Victor Cruz, Mario Manningham, Antrel Rolle, David Wilson, and Lesean McCoy in attendance; as well as the No. 1 draft pick and new Houston Texan Jadeveon Clowney, the party got started early and didn’t end until very late.
Presented by Steiner Sports, uSTADIUM & Dream Chasers, #DraftPartyNYC was one of the hottest places to catch the draft, with food and drinks during the actual watch party, followed by a VIP after-party featuring a set by DJ Self, who spun everything from Slick Rick to Katy Perry as the beautiful ladies danced the night away; and a high-energy performance by hip-hop mega star Meek Mill.
Mill took to the stage in the wee hours — close to 2am —but the crowd had no shortage of energy as the Philadelphia native ran through hits like “Levels” and “Amen.” Meek even brought a special guest —Memphis rap star Yo Gotti to the stage to perform their brash single “F.U.”
Clowney became one of the centers of attention as the evening wore on. The University of South Carolina defensive end attempted to sit near the front and enjoy the show, but quickly realized the celebrity status that the No. 1 NFL Draft Pick is afforded. After a few minutes, with fans crowding him in the corner, snapping photos with their smartphones, Clowney was whisked away to a VIP section.
With hip-hop providing the backdrop and taking center stage, great food and drinks, #DraftPartyNYC was a great time for everyone, even the non-sports fans.
