Kirk Franklin: During an interview in 2013 with Sway Calloway, the gospel singer shocked the world when he spoke candidly about his upbringing, which triggered his past addiction. “When I was a kid there was some abusive stuff that kinda happened in our family when I was a little boy. My little sister— there was some rape and some things that happened in our family and there were some ugly images that we got introduced to as kids around the age of 8. And so from about the age of 8 to about the age of 29, I struggled with that; just not only pornography, but also being very promiscuous.”
