The prophet Jonah is revered by Muslims, Christians and Jews. In the Christian Bible, the Book of Jonah tells the story of him being eaten by a great fish. Now, video has emerged of ISIS soldiers destroying the tomb with sledgehammers.
ISIS militants destroyed the tomb because of their belief that special veneration of a tomb is anti-Islamic. The tomb was located in the Iraqi city of Mosul which the militant group currently controls. In addition to the tomb of Jonah the group has destroyed a dozen more shrines and burned Christian churches.
