Though TMZ is usually on the money with most reports, it looks like they got this one wrong.
Not only did they get it wrong according to Coolio, they are flat out lying because he has no plans to do a new album, let alone one for Pornhub.
“They made that s— up completely. I didn’t talk to them about s— and they didn’t ask me any questions,” the “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper tells Rolling Stone. “That s— was a f—— promo song for the website. That’s it! I met some executive from Pornhub while he was out [in Las Vegas] for the AVNs. We hung out; he was cool. He asked me to do a song for Pornhub and that was it. It’s not even my song that I’m putting out. I’m never doing a new album.”
Pornhub exec Matthew Blake cosigns Coolio and says they did proposition him for future projects but nothing was ever agreed upon.
“We met Coolio and discussed the idea of him recording a song, and us producing and exclusively releasing the music video. While on the shoot we talked about the idea of Coolio working with us for future projects. The deal would have to be beneficial for both sides, but Coolio was great to work with and we’re all incredibly excited to see the finished product,” he said.
Can’t blame TMZ for trying to stay ahead of the game, but it looks like they jumped the gun with this one.
