Bollywood’s Priyanka Chopra graces ‘Mary Kom’s’ red carpet in Toronto

"Mary Kom" Premiere - Arrivals - 2014 Toronto International Film Festival

Internationally acclaimed and award winning actress, Priyanka Chopra kicked off Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday, Sept. 4, by gracing the red carpet of the premiere of her much anticipated film Mary Kom.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and directed by Omung Kumar, the film is based on the true story of Mary Kom, India’s first female boxer who stood her ground against all odds. The creative rendition of this biographical story reflects the journey of an individual who, at the peak of her boxing career, gave it up to embrace the joy of motherhood. Eventually, the world forgot boxer Mary Kom but the boxer never forgot her passion. After giving birth to two children, she returned to the ring and went on to become a five-time world boxing champion and Olympic medalist.

The Indian actress wore a lovely one-shoulder, floor sweeping ivory gown with a black neckline by designer, Gauri Nainika.

Mary Kom hits theaters worldwide today (Friday), Sept. 5, 2014.
