Celebrities back Alicia Keys’ #WeAreHere campaign

Alicia Keys is back on the scene and in a major way. Upon releasing her latest single, “We Are Here,” Keys is determined to make people think beyond their everyday reality and ask themselves, ‘Why are you here?’ Coupling her international work and her musical influence, Keys and her We Are Here movement supporters are determined to make the world a better place, one person and cause at a time. While the “Girl on Fire” may have garnered support from many high profile names, it’s was her efforts towards issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict that made it all seem more real.

I went to Israel and Palestine. I talked to many people on both sides and I know that most everyone I spoke to there wants peace. My generation wants peace. It’s the old guard that are still fighting to win while people and children are suffering. Let’s do everything we can to encourage a peaceful solution. Music and Art unites. These two artists represent the love we must all find in our hearts to heal old wounds and move FORWARD. Big love to @idanraichel @aliparismusic for joining me onstage today at the #GlobalCitizenFestival and being the embodiment of the @weareheremovement!
