Siya has been grinding for a minute, but thanks to Oxygen’s “Sisterhood of Hip Hop,” the Brooklyn, New-York-born rapper is getting the shine she deserves. Born Michele Sherman, Siya is signed to and supported by R&B singer Tank, who has taught her much about the music industry and welcomed her into his family with open arms. Being an openly gay rapper in hip-hop is uncharted territory, so we wish Siya the best and hope that her success lasts beyond the show.
