Aping black culture while not having to face any of the realities of black culture is one of the most obvious indicators of white privilege. And no one is milking that privilege right now more than the leggy rapper from Australia. Dating a black guy, rapping in a faux-black voice — it all screams identity issues. Iggy could get a little awareness about the history of people doing what she’s doing, and she could do well to learn more about the culture she’s appropriating.
