Authorities were able to locate Freeland-Gaither using tips from the public and a GPS on his Ford Taurus to pick up his location. The GPS was installed because Barnes has a poor credit history.
Barnes took Freeland-Gaither 120 miles away from home and according to authorities, her “fighting spirit” kept her alive during the 72 hours of captivity.
“I’m taking my baby home. Thank you,” Keisha Gaither, Carlesha’s overjoyed mother, shared during a news conference Wednesday night.
