Chrisette Michele performs at Detroit Links Inc. fundraiser

image Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and composer Chrisette Michele delivered a soulful and passionate performance at the 2014 Winter Soulstice fundraiser in Detroit. The black-tie event was hosted by the distinguished women of The Renaissance chapter of The Links Inc. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2014, at the Garden Theatre.

This private aristocratic event attracted nearly 700 of Michigan’s most esteemed Links women, supporters and guests. Following a grand “silver carpet” entrance and indulgence in delectable gourmet cuisine, the soulful songstress took the stage to deliver a breathtaking performance.

The famed artist appeared very graceful and eccentric, rocking a long, form-fitting black evening gown, baring her detailed and colorful body art. Long rust colored yarn twists with blonde highlights were neatly tied in a knot and draped down her back as she belted some of her most popular songs, including “I’m Leaving,” “What You Do,” “If I Had My Way” and “Blame It on Me.”

The highlight of Michele’s magical performance included a jazz rendition of the classic hit song “Summertime” by jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald and Louie Armstrong. Michele crooned sweetly over a live jazz band, showcasing her incredible vocal range.
