2. Start a business that provides a service or product currently in high demand by the Black community. Yeah … it might not feel good, but a lot of the money being spent in low income Black communities goes to hair, liquor, fashion, food, and basic necessities. That corner store doubling as a gas station doesn’t make it off gas. They support their families because of the food and knickknacks they sell. Open up storefront businesses that provide these things. A strong, culturally based marketing plan will bring you customers. You, in turn, as the business owner, must hire your community and make donations to programs that support your community, and advertise with Black owned media that champions the values of your community. Remember, the best way to shut down a liquor store, is to own the liquor store.
