More than 300 guests waited patiently for the “I’m a Flirt” singer, R Kelly, to arrive at his star-studded, surprise birthday bash on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at TIME Restaurant and Lounge, formerly the home of Ludacris’ restaurant Straits.
Hosted by Devyne Stephens, delicious bites were being passed and drinks were flowing as scenesters goggled and snapped cell phone pictures of stars like T.I., Keri Hilson, Bobby V, Carl Payne, as well as reality stars from “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta“ and “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Other notable guests in attendance included Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Phaedra Parks and Claudia Jordan, retired NFL defensive tackle Marcus Stroud, singer-songwriter-actor Mishon Ratliff, VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s” Mimi Faust and Erica Dixon, Ebony Steele and celebrity stylist Middleman Fresh (Atelier Shops Atlanta).
Stephens escorted Kelly through the back entrance of the restaurant to the main dining room where the crowd erupted and DJ King premiered Kelly’s latest single, “Birthday,” emerging from the simulated birthday cake was “Bad Girls Club” star Sarah Oliver who was waiting inside.
Next, a sea of female models escorted Kelly to his private section where family and friends gathered for a birthday cake presentation moments later. The party continued as guests vibed to more of Kelly’s latest and greatest hits in celebration of the King of R&B.
