LL Cool J returns as Grammy Awards host, more performers announced

LL Cool J - Jan 14

LL Cool J will return to reprise his role as the host of the 57th annual Grammy Awards on CBS. This will mark the “NCIS: Los Angeles” star’s fourth consecutive year as master of ceremonies, including his memorable 2012 debut just hours after the tragic passing of iconic superstar Whitney Houston.

In addition to announcing the rapper-actor as this year’s presenter, CBS has also revealed the names of other performers set to rock the stage at the prestigious music awards show. Country star Miranda Lambert, Sam Smith, Usher and Pharrell Williams will take the stage to perform some of their best hits, while Common and John Legend will croon their Golden Globe-winning single “Glory,” from the Oscar-nominated Selma.

The newly revealed performers will join previously announced artists Ariana Grande, AC/DC, Eric Church, Madonna and Ed Sheeran.

Golden Globe recipient Common is nominated for two Grammys, including Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Blak Majik,” featuring Jhené Aiko, and Best Rap Album for Nobody’s Smiling.

Legend, a nine-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist has also nabbed two nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance (“All of Me”) and Best Rap Song (“Bound 2.”) Furthermore, he’ll be making his Grammy performance debut.
