Making it rain in his hotel room has caused quite a thunderstorm for former NFL star and shamed NFL Network sports analyst Warren Sapp, whose been dragged in media following the 2015 Super Bowl sex scandal. Sapp was arrested on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona for soliciting a prostitute and assault. It appears to be a menage-a-trois that turned menacing at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel-Marriott and could land the Hall of Fame defensive tackle up to six months in jail. Sapp admitted to hiring the prostitutes, but denied the assault allegations.
Sapp claims he paid two women $300 each for sex. Both deny the claim. The “Dancing with the Stars” alum has cell phone video proof of the women performing sex acts.
The Phoenix Police Department said a fight spilled into the hallway of the hotel. Sapp claims they demanded more money. One called the hotel security who in turn called police to the scene. Sapp and his alleged victims were booked at Maricopa County jail.
Britney Osbourne, 23, was arrested for prostitution, the other woman, Quying Boyd, 34, was arrested for a violation of the City’s escort permit requirements. Both women were released. A once-before convicted upscale scam artist, Boyd has a track record. In Manhattan in 2014, she was accused of fleecing tourists out of $50,000 in cash and jewelry.
This isn’t the athlete-turned-analyst’s first run in with the law. He was arrested for domestic battery in 2010; charges were dropped. He was also arrested for an alleged domestic battery in Miami in 2014.
Sapp played 13 seasons in the NFL, including three with the Oakland Raiders, and won a Super Bowl in 2002 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he played with for nine seasons.
He was named defensive player of the year in 1997, reached the Pro-Bowl seven times and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame after his first year of eligibility in 2013.
