On March 9, a 15-year-old girl was brutally attacked at a Brooklyn, New York, McDonald’s. Four teenage girls have since been arrested, according to reports.
According to the NY Daily News, the girls were upset with the victim because she had “done something to a very close friend.” The ferocious assault was videotaped and shared via Facebook. In a three-minute video, which has since gone viral, a group of girls can be seen hitting and beating the unidentified teen until she falls to the ground while a restaurant filled with customers watch and cheer.
On March 12, police made their first arrest, apprehending 16-year-old Aniah Ferguson, who was charged as an adult with assault and robbery, among other charges. Her bond was set at $500,000. Three additional girls were arrested: a 15-year-old unidentified suspect who turned herself into police officials; another 15-year-old girl who was apprehended in Atlanta while on her way to board a plane to Jamaica; and Talani Marshall, 17.
While several suspects have been apprehended, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams says two suspects are still at large, offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrests. “I know I was sick to my stomach,” Adams said at a press conference, “And I’m sure many others were sick, to see this vicious and brutal attack of a young person.”
According to court records, the teen victim suffered a concussion and multiple bruises and contusions on her body.
