A pregnant mom responded to an ad for used baby clothes on Craigslist and that led to an unspeakable horror in Longmont, Colorado. The unidentified woman was seven months pregnant when she went to the home of the suspect in the crime. It was there that she was brutally beaten, stabbed repeatedly and her unborn baby was cut from her stomach.

Somehow she survived the attack by the complete stranger and was able to dial 911. When police responded to the call they could hear her cries for help. Within a short span of time, a suspect was apprehended at Longmont United Hospital carrying a dead baby. She told hospital staff that she had miscarried. Law enforcement officials were notified and the 34-year-old woman was arrested on several felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and child abuse knowingly/recklessly resulting in death. The victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
