This week on “R&B Divas LA,” Chrisette Michele abruptly told the rest of her cast mates that she was taking a break from the show to deal with her tumultuous personal life and burgeoning record label. But rumor has it that Michele isn’t just taking a break; she’s reportedly left the show for good.
After last season’s high-profile drama between Michele and her former series enemy, Chante Moore, Michele was hesitant to return to the series and deal with another season of drama. But upon her return, she and Moore seemed to finally deal with their issues and make peace.
However, the drama for Michele continued in new ways this season when she decided to launch her own record label, Rich Hipster, and sign her brother, lem Payne, who suffers from bipolar disorder.
At the end of Wednesday night’s episode, Michele told her cast mates that she was taking a break from the show to deal with her personal problems and to focus on her new bicoastal life (New York and LA) with her label.
Afterward, Michele tweeted about her departure
However, Funky Dineva previously reported that Michele walked away from the show because producers hired newcomer Stacey Francis to boost ratings with a younger audience by bringing more drama to the cast — something Michele allegedly wasn’t happy about.
A source allegedly told the popular blogger, “Chrisette quit because she said Stacy was a wannabe brought on just to bring drama, and that’s not the show she signed up for.”
Michele has yet to make any other comments about her departure, but Moore discussed it in her latest TV One blog. Check out her response after the cut.
