A college professor allegedly attempted to extort sex from a female student in exchange for a good grade. According to ABC 13, Lisa Mims was on the verge of failing her computer science class at Prairie View A&M in Prairie View, Texas.
Mims went to her professor, J.D. Oliver, with the hopes of getting extra credit assignments that could boost her grade. However, Mims said Oliver, 76, had other things in mind.
During one meeting after class, Mims claimed that Oliver walked up to her and began grabbing her breast. He then told her that she could get an A in the class if she met him at a hotel.
Oliver purchased a room at the Best Western and invited Mims to give him a visit. Mims agreed and arrived at the hotel shortly thereafter. But when Oliver opened the door to his hotel room, Mims was flanked by her boyfriend and two other male friends.
Mims said that Oliver asked her what could be done to make the situation go away.
Once Mims and her friends left the hotel, Oliver called police and filed a complaint saying he was robbed of his car keys, cellphone, money and credit cards. He also told police that Mims attempted to extort $9,000 from him.
Oliver eventually filed a lawsuit against Mims, and she returned the favor by filing a lawsuit against him.
Oliver has since been fired from Prairie View A&M.
