Washington, D.C, students participating in HSCDC’s Global Scholars Foundation program recently had the opportunity to visit with congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis at his office in the nation’s capital. During their visit with Rep. Lewis, the students were given a firsthand look at the operations of a congressional office.
Teens participating in the Global Scholars Foundation program travel abroad allowing for practical application of the language and cultural skills cultivated during the 18-month program.
“In addition to developing global skills, students learn basic financial literacy, particularly in areas of saving, banking, budgeting and investing and college preparation through research of college requirements, student qualifications, application process, financial aid, and visits to local colleges.” – H Street Community Development Corporation
