Authorities in Dallas have announced the arrest of four people in the forced miscarriage of a 14-year-old victim. Authorities stated that Sharon Jones, 45, Lonnell McDonald, 27, Cedric Jones, 27, and Cecila McDonald, 25, discovered that the girl was pregnant by a family member. The victim stated that the unidentified relative raped her in August 2012 and she subsequently became pregnant, the girl stated until then she was a virgin.
The girl did not tell anyone out of embarrassment; however family members discovered her pregnancy sometime in early 2013. The family members became concerned that if authorities found out about the assault and pregnancy, Child Protective Services would remove other children from the home. It is then according to police that Sharon Jones gave the child “multiple doses of birth control pills, Plan B [emergency contraception] pills and cinnamon tablets … to abort the baby.” When that failed the girl’s living nightmare of physical torture began. According to court affidavits, Cecilia McDonald held the young teen down while her husband Lonnell McDonald kicked her and repeatedly bounced up and down on her stomach. During the torture Cecila McDonald shouted, “You ain’t about to get my kids taken away from me” as her husband laughed.
The attack continued until the girl started to bleed and two hours later delivered a stillborn fetus. The gang of family members then threw the fetus onto a fiery charcoal grill in an attempt to destroy the remains. However the remains were not destroyed and Sharon Jones paid $25 to Cedric Jones to “take care of the rest of it.” The remains were then put into a plastic trash bag and dumped at an unknown location.
On Tuesday police arrested Sharon Jones, Lonnell McDonald, Cedric Jones and Cecila McDonald for the assault. Bond has been set at $150,000 each.
