Virtuoso violinist Lee England Jr. has been on a many stages throughout his eventful, yet neoteric career.
Perhaps none as big as his recent show at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse.
It was there that the twenty-something musician also known as the “soul violinist” was co-signed by legendary composer and producer Quincy Jones, who served as presenter of his performance, a compliment not at all lost on the young upstart.
“To have someone like Quincy Jones see me perform just one song, come back and then ask for a conversation and on the strength of that to give me a platform and recognize what I am capable of is just the extreme version of flattery and ultimately validation,” England says.
The event, which featured England’s performance and post performance reception, also served as a fundraiser for Geffen Playhouse’s education and outreach programs.
