Lil Wayne’s legal dispute with Birdman has gotten even messier. The feuding rappers were both at Club LIV in Miami Sunday night for Jim Jones’ birthday party when Birdman reportedly tossed a drink at his former protégé.
According to onlookers, Birdman threw a cup of liquor at Lil Wayne while he was performing. His entourage also threw bottles of water at the Young Money artist, reported MissInfo.
As seen on footage from the incident, Baby and his entourage are standing on a balcony watching Lil Wayne perform. While on stage, people from Lil Wayne’s crew point up toward Birdman. Wayne then shakes his head, as if he realizes who was responsible.
The club reportedly closed early due to the conflict.
The feud between two began when Bryan “Birdman” Williams, the CEO of Cash Money, delayed Lil Wayne’s album, Tha Carter V. Wayne then wanted out of the label contract, saying he felt like a “prisoner,” but Birdman refused to release him. He then sued Birdman, his former caretaker, for $51 million and asked the ruling judge to not only let him out of the record label, but also to make him joint copyright owner of all Young Money records, according to Pitchfork.
This latest incident is a sign that the rivalry may get even uglier before the men settle their differences.
