A mere 40 years after it was shot, Amazing Grace, the long lost Sydney Pollack-directed documentary of the making of Aretha Franklin’s landmark gospel LP, is set to see the light of day.
Originally filmed in 1972, the documentary details the process of Franklin and an ensemble of musicians recording the album that would go on to sell over two million copies, making it the most successful gospel record of all time.
Amazing Grace is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, which begins Sept. 10.
