Modern technology has simultaneously improved communication between those far apart and driven a wedge between those closest to us.
Chicago filmmaker Mark Harris utilizes his new film, My First Love, to examine how the dependency on technology can have an adverse effect on relationships. Pooch Hall and Gabrielle Dennis, both former stars of “The Game,” play a couple whose serious marital problems have reached the peak of conflict when Omar (Hall) becomes distracted with a constant need to check his phone and social media notifications. Carmen (Dennis) is fed up with her husband’s obsession and is ready to call it quits unless Omar gives her the proper attention she desires.
Shot on location in Chicago, the film also stars Carl Anthony Payne (“The Cosby Show,” “Martin”) and Brely Evans (“Being Mary Jane,” Sparkle)
“My First Love” is available on Amazon and iTunes and playing spot dates on BET.
