It was an exciting day for 10 hopeful company founders who were given the opportunity to pitch their startup business to an esteemed panel of judges at the Morehouse College Ray Charles Performing Arts center.

The winning company was Hipscience who presented their Mantis STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) platform. They have created a line of sensors paired with curriculum targeting K12 education. Co-founders Laron Walker and Marquette Trishaun impressed the judges with their leading edge hardware products and the way that they’ve connected it to education. Niesha Butler and her Sports Database Network earned second place.

Microsoft upped the ante for all three winners when they agreed to admit each of the companies into their Biz Spark accelerator program along with giving each $120,000 of services to help them grow their businesses. Microsoft Biz Spark is available to privately held startup companies less than 5 years old with under $1,000,000 in revenue. They provide a host of free cloud-based services and software.

PushTech2020 Atlanta is part of the 16th Annual Rainbow Push Creating Opportunity Conference. This years theme is Innovation Creates Opportunity and continues through Saturday 10/31 at the Hyatt Regency.
