LaSandra Boykin spearheads the community affairs department at Delta Air Lines. As project manager, she is responsible for employee engagement and special projects for the nonprofi ts that Delta supports in six key strategic focus markets and national partners, including KaBOOM! playground builds in Seattle, Detroit, Minneapolis and Atlanta; Junior Achievement Discovery Center for Atlanta and Gwinnett County, Georgia; renovation of the Delta Flight Museum; 100 Black Men of Atlanta Football Classic; Pride events and festivals; AIDS walks; and Children’s Miracle Network.


Giving back to the community is Boykin’s true passion. She uses her platform to help reach others through a variety of programs fostered on behalf of organizations she represents. Currently, Boykin serves on United Way’s Youth Professional Leaders board as the special events co-chair. She is also a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter and a proud a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

“It’s about being authentic, touching the lives of people around us, and influencing their lives for the bet-ter, helping those in need, always giving back, knowing [that] success and failure go hand and hand, and surrounding yourself with other successful and powerful women,” she says.

Boykin was recently awarded the 2015 Hyatt Herald Award by the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for her professional leadership and commitment to community service. She received the Forty Under 40 Achievers Award from The Network Journal, which recognizes the contributions young African Americans make to their communities. Boykin has also had the honor of being presented her own day by her father, County Legislator Ben Boykin. June 18 is officially marked as LaSandra Boykin Day in Westchester County, New York.
