As far as everyone knew, G.O.O.D. Music president and emcee Pusha T was hard at work on King Push, which was slated to be the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut album, My Name Is My Name, but according to the Virginia native, plans have now changed.

In a recent interview with Noisey, the 38-year-old rapper says he fell into a zone and ended up with enough music for two new albums instead of one.

“I’ve been recording so much—I didn’t want to break up that body of work,” Pusha says referencing the heavily anticipated King Push album. “I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren’t usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That’s the music I love, and that’s the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let’s just separate the game.”

According to Push, DBD, which is set to be a prelude to King Push, will feature a top notch line-up of producers including Kanye West, Nashiem Myrick, Puff Daddy, Q-Tip, and Timbaland among others.

Fans wondering when they’ll get a chance to hear the much hyped King Push album will now have to wait until early spring of 2016.

Darkest Before Dawn is scheduled to be released Dec. 18.
