On Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, Gallery Miriam opened its doors for an invite-only holiday reception hosted by owner Jean-Patrick Guichard. Atlanta influencers sipped wine and enjoyed tapas while viewing the gallery’s collection of unique paintings and sculptures created by several artists from various regions in Africa.

Located in Decatur, Georgia, Gallery Miriam specializes in the promotion of works by young artists from French-speaking Africa. Many of the young artists presented at the gallery are award winners of European and Asian competitions. Many of their pieces hang on the walls of homes and galleries from Europe to Asia and offer a glimpse of their countries of origin. Gallery Miriam specializes in art from French-speaking Africa, but there are also pieces included from the rest of the continent and diaspora.

Gallery Miriam affords the Atlanta community the opportunity to become familiar with such incredible talent from a region often untapped and underexposed. The gallery will host several charity events in the coming months, along with exhibits and classes that will aim to enrich and enlighten the local community.
