New images from the set of the upcoming Benny Boom directed Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez On Me, have recently hit the Internet and fans are getting an up close look at the actor chosen to portray the legendary emcee for the first time.

Demetrius Shipp, Jr. is the newcomer trusted with the task of bringing the late beloved rapper to life on the big screen. According to producer LT Hutton, a big part of the reason Shipp was selected to take on the role was his striking resemblance to Shakur. The young actor reportedly took intense acting classes four days a week to prepare for the once in a lifetime role.

Interestingly enough, Shipp’s father, who has worked in the music industry previously, got a chance to meet Tupac when the actor was a child

Respected actor and author Hill Harper, who has a role in the film, took to Instagram to share a few images from the set of the film. And TMZ also recently posted a test image of Shakur and Shipp side by side that was used in the casting process for fans to see.
