Ice Cube and Kevin Hart return to the big screen for the reprisal of their roles in the hit action-comedy Ride Along. In the second installment, appropriately titled Ride Along 2, Atlanta detective James Payton (Ice Cube) flies south to sunny Miami in an effort to track down an illegal drugs supplier who’s infiltrated his jurisdiction. Even though his wedding is days away, Ben Barber (Hart) sees an opportunity. He begs his brother-in-law-to-be to allow him the chance to prove he has the chutzpah to officially join the Atlanta police force.
The pair end up on a thrilling adventure through South Beach and other familiar parts of the beachside playground filled with sun-kissed and bikini-clad partiers.
From the hottest party in town at the Villa Casa Casuarina, aka the Versace Mansion, to cruising along Collins Avenue and even leaving an explosive mark on the A1A, you get your feel of the 3-0-5, the Magic City. The brothers-in-law, pun intended, will keep you cracking up with their in-your-face antics and timely one-liners.

On how they actually met each other…“I met Cube in the NBA Entertainment League [a premier invitational league for actors hosts, managers, producers, and directors, that offers prized official uniforms and championship jewelry]. We met in passing and the conversations were casual, about basketball never business. Our paths crossed at the right time when it was time for us to work together. Ride Along one is when we met. We read the script and we both liked the concept. We said we wanted to punch it up a little bit with a rewrite. We hit if off on day one and haven’t looked back,” shares Hart.
Tika Sumpter’s character, Angela Payton, ties the knot. Her dress is gorgeous.
“It [the wedding dress] is great. When I put it on, I felt all teary-eyed. Kevin was like, ‘girl, this is not a real wedding.’ We went through wedding dresses. I knew it was the one when I put it on.”
