Another hip-hop-focused docuseries is coming to television thanks to a new collaborative effort between La La Anthony and Timbaland.
The as-yet-untitled series will be an unscripted look at the Face Time Agency, which is currently one of the leading casting agencies for booking hip-hop music videos and urban fashion models. Drake, Kanye West and Robin Thicke are among a long list of celebrities who’ve employed the services of Face Time in the past. According to Variety, ‘the series exposes the cutthroat entrepreneurial side of hip-hop with models, DJs and social media stars hustling to break through as fashion, music and media moguls.’
Anthony, who’s appeared in the Think Like A Man franchise as well as the Starz network hit series, “Power,” will serve as one of the executive producers on the series while Timbaland, who is currently executive music producer on Fox’s “Empire,” will undertake the same role for this series.
“I’m excited to continue to build my brand within the TV space,” Timbo said. “Projects like this, with music and culture at the center, are the sweet spot of my content play … let’s go!”
Anthony expressed similar excitement about the project.
“I’m thrilled to be executive producing a project that offers a true insider’s look into the business side of hip-hop, especially one that explores the lives of fascinating women who have used hip-hop as their platform to become successful entrepreneurs in fashion, music and more,” Anthony added.
The series will be produced by Leftfield Entertainment, which has produced a number of popular reality shows to date, including “Bridal Bootcamp,” “Fashion Hunters,” and “Monsters-In-Law.”
