One day after his TGT brother Tank was in town, Ginuwine shows up at the Shrine in Chicago and reminded the throngs of fans who came to see him why he is a certified star. Chicago based R&B artist Justin Ruff was the opening act for the evening and his falsetto was effortless. He ran through a few off his songs from his most recent project Ruff Draft. Ruff and his band warmed the stage and cleared the way for Ginuwine.

Once Ginuwine appeared on stage, the screaming and yelling from adoring fans hit a fever pitch and he jumped right into his set. It is easy to forget the many hits he has. He did a test to make sure the crowd was with him and they sang along with every song he presented. His back up singers are probably two of the best in the business. They have been with him for the past 18 years. In the moments when Ginuwine may not be singing his back up singers blend in seamlessly. After doing a medley of Michael Jackson songs and adding in a few dance moves, Ginuwine dropped in “Pony” and the audience sang every word.

Ginuwine mentioned he would be dropping his tenth album this year and that the shows he’s doing are his way of testing the waters. He will have a full band with him when the official tour hits.

Check out a few of the pics from the show below.
