Rappers Killer Mike, Usher and Polo the Don have started off Black History Month on a positive economic footing. They are inviting their fans to join them at Black-owned Citizens Trust Bank to open an account today in Atlanta at noon.
Killer Mike posted to Instagram:
“Me, Usher, Polo the Don & The influencer Coalition will be at 75 Piedmont Ave. 30303 downtown ATL. Noon today. We are gonna be opening accounts there and we encourage all of u too do the same! U can keep ya big bank account and use this one as a Savings or you can bring the whole operation. What ever u decide make sure at least 1 account is with a black bank turning that dollar in our community!”
The move comes after a very public dispute when rapper Blac Youngsta, real name Sam Benson, was a victim of what has been described as “Banking While Black” while at a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Atlanta this past January.
