Cam Newton and the history of Black quarterbacks in the Super Bowl

Doug Williams/Washington Redskins

Doug Williams was the first starting Black quarterback to win a Super Bowl in 1988. He led the Redskins in a 42-10 victory over the Denver Broncos. Williams was also named the Super Bowl MVP for his stellar performance during the game.
