Many people have faced a hard college mid-term exam unprepared and have attempted an excuse. But one Columbia University pre-med student tried to take his excuse to a hilarious extreme and failed miserably. Terrell Finner shoved a pair of headphones in his nose and put a charger across his arms to make it appear that he was hospitalized. He tweeted, “I’m emailing these pics to my chem prof bc I had a nosebleed & had to be hospitalized & can’t take this midterm Wed.”

He claims in tweets that he sneezed and got a serious nosebleed and was hospitalized. Finner went so far as to fake a hospital wristband and wrap himself in white linen sheets to appear he was in an exam room. Since his original posts Finner admitted it was all a joke, but his social media posts soon went viral across the Internet. The pictures have been shared over 20K times and have thousands of likes making him a social media star. The Internet response surprised Finner and he posted, “When you wake up out a dead sleep to 75000 notifications that’s your viral tweet is going viral on Facebook.”

Finner is taking his new online fame in stride and has posted new pictures of him with the caption, “Got discharged from the hospital. Gotta have oxygen though,” with another adding, “Thanks for your prayers!” But some are critical of his antics calling him a fool and an embarrassment for posting the pictures. There was no word if he actually sent the pictures to his college professor or if he had to take an exam. If he did, he could face possible academic repercussions from Columbia. But it does not look like Finner took it that far, so for now he is enjoying his success as a new social media star.
