When you’re on a reality TV show, one shocking line or one bit of gossip can turn you into a tabloid star. And that’s certainly the case for Kim Fields and her husband, Chris Morgan, who is facing a firestorm of gossip about his sexuality thanks to a gossip session between the ladies of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Now, Sheree Whitfield, who was a pivotal player in the gossip, is opening up about the rumors and why she decided to tell Fields about them.

As fans will remember, the drama all started during the ladies’ trip to Jamaica when the Housewives, sans Fields, got together for drinks and began talking about how flamboyant, shady and “delicate” Morgan is. The gossip got worse when Kenya Moore chimed in and revealed that there have been rumors in Black Hollywood for years that Morgan is secretly gay and that people often refer to him as “Chrissy.”

The next day, when the ladies came together with Fields, Whitfield opened a can of worms when she told Fields that the ladies were talking about her husband and that they looked up the gay rumors online. Although Whitfield and most of the other ladies claimed that they didn’t believe the rumors, Moore implied that they were real and that other rumors about the couple having financial troubles were also real.

Now that the island trip is over and Moore and Fields had a failed attempt at trying to squash their beefs, Whitfield is speaking about the drama in her latest Bravo blog post. And according to Whitfield, Moore was totally wrong for bringing up rumors about Morgan’s sexuality.

“Being away from the ladies and coming back into the circle, I definitely have gained a different perspective on how to handle conflict. I believe there are certain subjects that should be off limits in our circles, our families being one of them. It was unfair and borderline cowardly of Kenya to attack Kim’s marriage and family by bringing up these rumors to the group without Kim being there to defend herself. I just didn’t understand how Kenya discussing rumors about Kim’s marriage helps an already strained relationship,” Whitfield said.

Whitfield then explained why she decided to put the other ladies on blast and tell Fields that they were gossiping about her husband.

“It was simple, Kim deserved an opportunity to respond and defend the rumors that Kenya brought to the group. I’ve come to learn that in these type of instances if an issue isn’t addressed it festers and lingers, so I figured I’d lay it all out on the table,” Whitfield said.

She continued, “Mind you, none of these ladies, with the exception of Cynthia, had an issue going in on Chris outside of her presence. They laughed and made jokes of the rumors, and then we all sit down together with Kim and these same women go on to exchange pleasantries and sing his praises!!! I just couldn’t take it! Can you say #fake, #phony, #fraudulent, or all of the above? LOL! #BottomLine: #IamAllergicToFakeSh– and I felt it would be best for us to just discuss what was said and involve Kim in the conversation and allow her to put an end to it if she saw fit…or not!”

Well, there you have it.
