Every Tuesday night, 925 Scales highlights artists known for bringing “Real Music and vocals to the table.” Last Tuesday, Syleena Johnson hit the stage with a new sound, new music and a new body. Syleena looked amazing and lit up the room with her newfound glow. I don’t know what type of changes she has made since the TV One “R&B Divas” series ended, but obviously something has taken over her spirit and I am loving the brand new Syleena Johnson.
The “I Am Your Woman” R&B sultry song singing Diva took us back down memory lane with “Faithful to You” and “Guess What” for the fans she had in the building. Cheering her on was longtime friend Andrea Kelly, actress Charmin Lee, Deb Antney was in the house and Syleena’s management team. Even though this is typically a dinner crowd, Andrea Kelly and Syleena starting taking folks back to church and quickly the front row was out of their seats and grooving to Johnson, her incredible background singers and the band.
Featured the week before was the newly transformed former child singer Sammie, who is definitely all grown up. Sammie has been working with the incredible producer Tricky for the past year and it’s truly reflective in his sound that he has found his winning team.
On Tuesday, March 1, Angie Stone will take the stage. Angie’s new single, “Two Bad Habits,” is blazing on radio right now. Seems Angie too has found the fountain of youth water faucet and all the old school artists have either been hit with the Benjamin Button wand or the music is keeping them youthful, as they are delivering vocals on these new songs with a fierceness that’s indescribable.
If you are a real music fan, you definitely want to take the time to take a nap during the daytime so you can hang out late to attend the real love music experience, even if you have to call in late on Wednesday morning to work. Check out the pictures, after the break.
