Dr. Rachael Ross from the hit daytime show “The Doctors” gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Rebekkah Story Ross.
The famous family medicine physician first posted a picture of her little girl’s feet on Instagram and explained her natural labor process within the caption.
“#LittleFeet has arrived!!!! She came in with her right fist in the air, through a natural birth without any pain medication….it was tough, but I’m glad I did it that way,” Dr. Ross wrote. “She is perfect in every way, she has a ravenous appetite, and ironically she has large feet lol. Her name is Rebekkah Story Ross. We call her Story.”
“The Doctors” had a special segment dedicated to Dr. Ross’ pregnancy announcement in November. She told her co-hosts that she always wanted to have a baby, but she was just waiting for the right time.
The new mommy also posted a photo of Rebekkah’s face. The baby, dressed in a tiny pink and white robe, looked very calm and serene for a newborn. Accompanying the photo was more of Dr. Ross’ story on her experience in labor, and she also revealed that the newborn is named after her late sister.
My bundle of joy!!! Welcome to this side of the universe Story!…she flew in an ounce shy from being eight pounds, 21inches long, facing the wrong direction (no doubt trying to see the sun), and her arm extended with her hand above her head…Slaying ??….I opted for a natural birth because as a physician, I know that sometimes the least number of interventions can lead to the best outcomes. I wanted us both to survive…my sister Rebekkah passed away as a result of a pregnancy, and since then Ive been scared of it for myself…#DrGoodall understood, encouraged me to try it, and introduced me to my doulas. We attended private hypnobirthing classes and got comfortable with the idea of a natural birth. No pain meds, no epidural, just meditative thoughts, breathing, and focus…I almost gave up twice….#DrGoodall kept saying ‘you can do it Rachael…’. My Doula walked me through different labor positions, my birthing companion kept telling me I was doing great, God & my angels protected me…and eventually with that last push, my nose bleeding, my nether regions never to be the same again, delirious from pain, almost ready to give up, Rebekkah Story Ross arrived!!! Bright eyed and ready to eat…for the first time I understood how strong women really are. I understood the significance of that birthing pain…My mom has done this FIVE times…I’ve never felt pain like that or love like that. Its as if I was a spectator and a participant all at the same time… I’m looking forward to life with Our Little Story, and the limitless love between mommy and her little one. ❤❤❤❤❤
Congratulations on your beautiful new baby, Dr. Ross!
