Kim Fields always seemed to be the odd one out when she joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and the other cast mates, especially Kenya Moore, weren’t afraid to let her know that she didn’t fit in well with the rest of them. So when she announced last month that she wouldn’t be coming back to the show for a second season, it came as no surprise to viewers that her time on the show had come to an end. Although Fields initially explained that she simply felt it was her time to move on to do other things, new reports are claiming that she left because of multiple issues.
As fans of the show know, Moore and Fields were initially cordial to each other after they first met, but when Moore felt that Fields was condescending and judgmental to the cast, she began consistently attacking Fields and trying to ostracize her from the group. Making matters worse was the fact that Moore even spread rumors that Fields’ husband, Chris Morgan, is closeted and that people in the industry refer to him as “Chrissy.”
Although both Fields and Morgan said during the reunion show that they had moved on from the issue with Moore, reports claim that Fields took serious issue with Moore spreading rumors about her husband on TV.
“The rumors spread on the show, that Christopher is gay, were absolutely unacceptable,” sources said. “Her kids will have to deal with the fallout for year to come.”
Sources say that Fields asked Bravo to keep the footage from airing, but as expected the network milked the drama for all it was worth. Sources say that Fields was outraged that Bravo did nothing to protect her and her husband from the rumors Moore was spreading, which added to her reasons for wanting to leave the show.
The sources also say that Fields decided to leave show because she was simply fed up with dealing with the drama from the cast.
“Kenya Moore just kept coming after her,” the source said. “Kim felt the network did nothing!”
The sources say that Fields, who was noticeably non-confrontational during the season, tried to stand up for herself during the season 8 reunion, but fans are still criticizing her online for being so passive throughout the season.
Although these rumors haven’t been confirmed by Fields or Morgan, it’s not hard to believe them. Not everyone is cut out for reality TV and Fields just seems like a regular woman who wants to work in the industry as opposed to being famous for airing out her dirty laundry and pulling skeletons out of other people’s closets – which is what so many reality TV shows are based on.
