For months now, a hot button topic among trans citizens has been the issue of whether or not it should be legal or illegal for trans people to use whatever public bathroom that they feel matches their gender. And while some politicians are divided on the matter, trans reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner recently weighed in on the matter with a video mocking trans bathroom restrictions.
In the video, which was posted to Jenner’s Facebook page, she brings up recent comments by Republican presidential hopefuls Ted Cruz and Donald Trump about bathroom regulations regarding trans people. While recently discussing trans bathroom bans, Trump used Jenner as an example and said that she and other trans people can use any bathroom they want at his famous hotels.
“There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble,” Trump said.
Cruz, however, has said that trans people should be banned from using certain bathrooms because it creates a dangerous situation for children.
“Grown adult men, strangers, should not be alone in a bathroom with little girls,” Cruz said, adding that it’s “just common sense.”
Well, in Jenner’s video, she can be seen walking up to one of Trump’s hotels and telling the camera that she needs to use the bathroom.
“Oh my God, a trans woman in New York! I gotta take a pee,” Jenner says in the video as she walks down the street to the hotel. “Oh my God, a Trump International hotel! I love this! OK, last week Donald Trump said I can take a pee anywhere in a Trump facility, so I’m gonna go take a pee in the ladies’ room.”
Jenner can then be seen entering the women’s bathroom and then exiting it a few moments later as she both thanks Trump and blasts Cruz.
“Thank you, Donald, really appreciate it,” Jenner says. “By the way, Ted, nobody got molested.”
Well, that’s definitely a memorable way to take a jab at Cruz.
