For weeks now, Prince’s name has been dragged through the tabloids as his surviving family members have been feuding endlessly over the rights to his remaining fortune and music following his untimely death in April. Now Prince’s heirs are at odds about his legendary vault of unreleased music.
As previously reported, Prince’s full sister, Tyka Nelson, and five of their surviving half-siblings have been at war over how to properly divvy up Prince’s remaining fortune, which is rumored to be $150 million, as quickly as possibly because Prince’s assets are frozen until a judge can determine how much the administrator of Prince’s estate should give to the late artist’s family members for living expenses.
Recently, two new people were thrown into the mix when it was revealed that Prince’s late half-brother, Duane Nelson Sr., had a daughter, Brianna, and granddaughter, Victoria, who recently filed documents in Prince’s probate claiming they are rightful heirs to his fortune as well.
Well, according to media reports, Prince’s niece and grandniece already have plans beyond getting a piece of his fortune; they also want to release the massive collection of unreleased music that’s sitting in the late singer’s vault.
Soruces say that Brianna and Victoria are anxious to hear all of the music and then come up with a plan to release the music for profit. Sources also say that the ladies’ attorney Andrew Stoltmann, as well as several of Prince’s siblings, are also coming up with a plan to turn the late star’s Paisley Park compound into a museum, like Elvis Presley’s Graceland.
Of course, neither the music nor the museum will be free and fans will have to pay a price for both, which is expected since the family is scrambling to unfreeze Prince’s assets.
However, sources say that the thing standing in their way is Tyka, who has allegedly been claiming that she deserves a bigger portion of Prince’s fortune and that she out of anyway else in the family should have control over what happens to Prince’s estate.
Well, we’re not surprised that Prince’s family reportedly wants to release his vaulted music considering that there’s an extreme interest from fans to hear the songs. However, with the way Prince’s siblings are warring with each other, right now, we doubt that we’ll hear the vaulted music anytime soon.
