Ever since news broke this weekend that Tamar Braxton would not be returning for the third season of “The Real,” rumors have been flying about whether Braxton was fired or quit and also why she wasn’t returning next season. And what fans have also been talking nonstop about is Braxton’s claim that someone close to her betrayed her, leaving many to assume that some of her cast mates may have had a hand in her unceremonious exit. Although many people were pointing the finger at Loni Love, she recently spoke out for the first time on the matter and gave a very revealing account of what happened behind the scenes.
As previously reported, the news of Braxton’s exit happened this weekend when reports flew that Braxton would be fired from the show. Shortly afterward, Braxton made a cryptic Instagram post in which she accused someone of betraying her and trying to “play” her, which many took as a confirmation that she was fired.
“I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted ( not my man or my sisters) I am not about to be tried and tested to snitch and it’s not in good taste to tell you who…… but as #tamartians you are very smart and can figure things out on your own. But know that every one who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light. Thank GOD HE HOLDS MY FUTURE AND MY HAND! (Remember who u are)….I am Tamar Braxton,” Braxton wrote.
It wasn’t long after that “The Real” issued a statement, claiming that Braxton’s exit was a mutual decision between her and the executives of the show. However, most people didn’t believe the statement, especially since Braxton unfollowed all of her cast mates, including “The Real’s” social media account, except for Tamera Mowry-Housley.
Fans seemed hell-bent on finding out who on the cast betrayed her and rumors began to circulate about whether the cast knew about Braxton’s firing. Even Wendy Williams echoed the main fan sentiment that it was Braxton’s co-host, Love, who helped get her fired.
However, after days of being the villain in the growing story, Loni decided to post revealing video on her Facebook page yesterday and deny the rumors that she backstabbed her friend.
According to Love, no one on “The Real” cast knew about Braxton’s alleged firing until this past Saturday when Braxton sent them a group text about the rumor, saying that she was worried that she might get the ax.
“None of us found out about Tamar, until Tamar text us on Saturday, and it was Saturday afternoon. I remember because I was taking a nap, because I had to get ready for my two shows, and you know I have to take my nap. And I got a group text from Tamar and she said, ‘I think, I heard, I’m being fired.’ First person to answer was Tamera. I woke up from my nap, I answered about an hour later. I immediately called her and I said what are you talking about. She did not pick up. I ended up texting her on the group text, and said please let me know what is going on,” Love said.
Love insists that all of the hosts tried to contact Braxton and that afterward Telepictures called them individually and let them know that they were indeed letting Braxton go. Love claims that she tried to find out from Telepictures why Braxton was being fired, to no avail.
“They told me, basically, none of my business,” Love said, adding that Braxton still hadn’t responded and explained what happened either.
Love also addressed comments from Wendy Williams, who claimed on Monday during her “Hot Topics” segment that Love is close friends with B. Scott, who originally posted the leaked rumor about Braxton’s firing. Williams hinted that Love may be the one who betrayed Braxton and that she was the one leaking the info to Scott.
